What is Equnival?
That’s the question we get all the time. Equnival (pronounced ek’-ni-vaal) is shorthand for “Equity is a Universal Value”. I heard this phrase in a meeting ten years ago, and it really hit home. Equity is not reserved for one group. In fact, equity requires each of us to have access to the decision making and power structures that impact our daily lives, as well as the resources, benefits, and opportunities that come for those structures. Through its collaborative work, Equnival seeks to develop partnerships and structures that enable this access, especially to communities that have most often been left out of the bounties of our society.
